SEXUALITY: Heterosexual ETHER: Yes; although he cannot connect to it without some help, or if there is a link already in his mind. He is the first cup of coffee in the morning, hot with the potential to burn you away, the lingering scent of freshly brewed coffee. Capable of being bitter or sweet, he is that first hit of caffeine and the first pull of the drug. supernatural [top.] ABILITIES SKILLS: A talented singer and guitar player, Theron’s greatest skills lie in his musical abilities. He can read music, create it and play it, often only needing a short time with a piece to commit it to memory. The way in which he sees the music in the world is also an ability, inspiring him and often enabling Theron to spot things that he might otherwise miss. He’s capable of giving a good back massage. He has a shaky grasp on the French language and can speak enough to get by, although he’s never been fluent in it. He is a more than capable ice hockey player, on either an attacking or defensive position, although Theron is less comfortable playing goalie. Due to the time spent practising on the ice, he is also a skilled ice skater, as well as having decent balance and ability to find his centre. Theron is rather handy at a number of things around the house, from fixing leaking pipes to putting up shelving and all similar household tasks. LIMITATIONS: As a human, he is completely mortal and as such, susceptible to all the weakness that come with that. If injured, it will take him the normal amount of time to heal, and of course he can be easily killed in any number of different ways. He is just as likely as to get an illness as anyone else, from a cold to a potentially fatal one which would kill him. His wife is a weakness, his love for her ensuring he would do almost anything to try and protect her, along with his younger sister. The complete lack of knowledge and understand of the supernatural world and what he has found himself in is possibly the greatest limitation he has and will undoubtedly cause grave amounts of trouble. Although no longer a drug addict, that need never completely leaves and Theron knows it would take the smallest slip and single wrong pill to fall back into it. WEAPONRY TRAINING: Limited at best; Theron knows how to hold his own in a scrap or fight, but he’s not been trained in any type of fighting or with how to deal with things so much stronger than him. RIVALRIES: Lily Mae Fitzgerald. appearance [top.] Standing at 6’1”, Theron is a well built, impressive young man. Muscular without being fat, he is toned and strong. His hair is jet black, falling around his face with his fringe often obscuring his vision. Relatively long for a man, it goes past his ears in a messy fashion. Most of the time it looks like he has either just rolled out of bed or been dragged through a hedge backwards. His eyes are hazel/green depending on the light; they can even appear almost grey at times. His wardrobe varies depending on his mood and the situation, from jeans and loose black t-shirts, to waistcoats and proper button up shirts. His favourite item of clothing is the thick dark duster that he can often be seen in. Theron has both of his ears pierced once; typically he wears small hoops of either gold or silver in them. On his wedding finger, he wears a simple wedding band of silver. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Most of the marks on his body are ones of his own choosing and making. He has tattoos up both arms, the majority of which are black, either black text or black tribal, including a thick tribal band around his left arm, just below the elbow. On his right arm, in the same place, he has a thick block of black. There are a couple of coloured ones as well, such as the blue and white wave on his shoulder. Aside from his tattoos, Theron has two small pale scars on his hip from a childhood accident. personality [top.] Very creative and artistic, Theron sees the world through different eyes than most. He sees it almost as music, a flow of sound and notes that runs through the world. People’s voices are music to him, unconsciously categorizing them by note and by tone, and more often than not, he will remember someone by the type of music he associates them with, rather than a name or face. The whole world is music to Theron, and he tries his best to capture what he sees in his own music, to share how he sees things to other people. He always reacts best to words than images, able to paint images in his mind complete with that ever present music. His music unsurprisingly, is his life and there is little Theron likes better than to perform, even if only to himself and he is just as happy playing for a group as he is tinkering with a song on his guitar. Tactile, Theron has always loved to touch and feel things on his skin, often deriving simple pleasure from just touching things or running his hand over an item. Passionate in all that he does, Theron believes in living life to the full and enjoying every moment that he can. He approaches everyday tasks with that same intensity that he does with every aspect of his life. Due to this, he has something of a temper when provoked far enough. While nine out of ten times, he will remain laid back and calm in stressful situations this is because he is more than aware of his temper and the way in which in can explode. Theron makes a conscious effort to keep himself under control, to reign in his temper and his self destructive behaviour. He has something of an additive personality, which resulted in not only a drug addiction, but shows up in his every day to day behaviour as well. It’s only too easy for him to become hooked on a new food, drink or author, becoming almost obsessed with them. Very stubborn, he often doesn’t know when – or even how – to quit. The young man can be surprisingly modest about his own talents and skills. He isn’t great at receiving compliments, often not knowing how to react to them and more often than not, not truly believing them. At his heart, Theron is something of a self-doubter, unsure of his own worth and his own reason for being. He’s never been quite able to believe his luck for example in actually marrying his school sweetheart or the fact that people seem to enjoy his music. Theron has been searching for a reason in his life, some meaning behind the pain his sister went through and the rocky patch his own life has been recently. He has a simple yet deep and abiding love for his wife and his younger sister, an unsentimental love that is rarely expressed verbally in his music but underpins all that he does with his art. Theron doesn’t see the need to write poetry or surprise people with candlelit dinners and random presents. That isn’t to say that he is incapable of being romantic when he wants or needs to be, only that he rarely sees the need to do such over the top actions. history [top.] FAMILY SPOUSE: Nicola Bennot nee Horner. [Younger Sister] • Born in 1989, Theron Bennot was the first child or Wil and Jennifer, a human couple living in Toronto, Canada. • Two years later, his younger sister, Tara was born. The second labour did not go as smoothly as the first and although both mother and daughter survived, it left Jennifer unable to conceive again, and Tara a weak, sickly child. • Theron quickly conceived a deep and protective love for his little sister, taking it upon himself to be the best big brother he could. • They were rather close growing up, Theron always having time for Tara, and always willing to help her or stand up for her, even picking her over his friends. • It was during high school at Tara’s insistence that he first picked up the guitar and as his sister had known, he fell in love with it at once. He was fairly popular and happy at school, different enough to consider himself an individual but liked by many for his musical talent. • It was also during high school that Theron first met Nicola Horner, a cheerleader when they were both sixteen. • They quickly fell for each other, the perfect school time romance, Theron taking Nicola to the prom. • By twenty one they had married, ignoring the doubters and the whispers that they were too young, too immature to commit to each other, that Theron hadn’t even gotten himself a proper job. They didn’t care; they loved each other and they knew that was all that mattered. • It was harder than both of them had expected. Money was tight and although they both took on odd jobs to pay the bills, neither were really happy unless they were doing what they loved; Theron with his music and Nicola with her dancing. • Bit by bit Theron achieved some level of success performing in the clubs around Toronto, never enough to be able to live off but it kept him happy and helped him get through the mind numbingly boring work he had to do as well. • All that was shattered when Tara discovered she had cancer. • With the stress of money worries and now the added concern of his sister falling dangerously ill, Theron couldn’t take it. • At first he just took some painkillers to numb the constant stress headaches. • But as time went on, Theron found himself turning to the pills more and more, using any kind of pain as an excuse to drug himself, even mental pain. Before he really knew what was going on, he was hooked, with most of his hard earned money going to fund his habit. • It dulled the pain though, kept everything at a hazy distance and stopped it hurting so much as Tara grew weaker and weaker. • Nicola knew something was wrong with her husband and it didn’t take her long to work out it was drugs. For ages she agonized over what to do, if she should just ignore it or if she should confront him. • Finally, after coming home one day to find him passed out from the pills, Nicola knew she had to do something, quietly hunting out all the secret stashes of drugs. • When Theron came too it was to find Nicola sitting quietly next to him, holding a photo of Tara and all the drugs pilled on the table in front of them. Softly she offered her husband a choice; the pills and the temporary numbness they provided or his family. • As much as he wanted, needed that pile of pills, it was no contest, not really, not if it meant he might lose the people he loved, that fear having started this spiral in the first place. • It was hard; painfully hard. The withdrawal was kick being kicked in the stomach, but as promised Nicola was there for every terrible moment. • That desire never really left him however, the urge to take a pill slipping up on Theron at the oddest times. • Tara somehow clung onto life despite her all round weakness, going into remission soon after Theron turned 29 although they all knew the percents were high on her relapsing. • More than anything, this second chance his sister had been given made Theron that much more determined to pull his life together, throwing himself into his music with renewed vigour, even getting approached by a small independent label. • Life was good.
